Greytown SPCA

Welcome to the Greytown SPCA, where compassion meets countryside charm!

Just a short 5 minute drive from town, along the Muden road, (near the Merthley Lake), you’ll discover our peaceful sanctuary nestled among wide open fields and shady trees. It’s a haven where dogs’ tails wag happily, cats stretch out in the sun, and horses and donkeys graze contentedly and peacefully, all waiting to meet kindhearted visitors like you.

Our open air, farm-style setup invites you to slow down, take a walk under the trees, and spend time connecting with the animals. Whether you’re a family with little ones, an animal lover, or just looking for a peaceful place to visit, our doors are open to you.

You are also welcome to call ahead if you would like a personal tour! Children are encouraged to interact with our friendly family dogs in a safe, welcoming space while learning.

Our Services

The Greytown SPCA plays a crucial role in our community, and besides the Greytown area, extends its reach to areas like Dalton, Muden, Keats Drift, Kranskop, Matimatolo, Tugela Ferry, and more. Despite our expansive coverage and the essential services we provide, the SPCA relies solely on donations to sustain our operations.

One of the primary focuses of the Greytown SPCA is education, emphasising the importance of neutering animals for population control. Additionally, we actively engage in disease control initiatives, including the treatment of conditions like mange and rabies. Our dedication to these efforts significantly contributes to the wellbeing of animals and the overall health of our community. We also support impoverished communities with medication and disease control. It is our aim to protect all animals and give them a voice and the care that they deserve.
